Introduction to Class Photos:

If you went to Park School before the early 1960s, you might remember that the classes were divided into 2 semesters.  The first semester of each grade level was the "B" semester, and the second was the "A" semester.  In the 1950s and early 1960s, classes were quite large, and to distribute the students more evenly among the teachers, grades were often combined.  So very often, these photographs contain students from 2 different grades.  For instance, a teacher might have students from 1A and 2B in her class.

Many of these photographs have the grades and the names of the students written on the backs; however there are some with no information at all, and some with students names, but no grades listed.  I have tried to put the photographs in the correct school years, but there are a handful of them which might not have the correct grade and/or school year assigned.

If you have additional information on any of these photos, please let me know.  Be sure to give me the school year (in 2-year format) as well as the grade level of the photograph.  Also, if you happen to have any photos that aren’t included in the blog and you would like to share them here, please let me know.
